Munich’s goal for this project was to renovate their 3 existing floors, add a 4th net new floor. The redesign and extension of the staircase to the new floor was included in the work.  Munich’s workplace change was a strategy to modernize their work environment and facilitate a culture change within the organization.  Gillanders acted as the Project Manager and was responsible for all aspects of the project including management of the consultants, permitting, construction tendering and award, construction management, furniture procurement, and relocation services

The scope of this project was 50,000 sf and included demolition, abatement, construction of new general office space, executive offices, reception area, LAN rooms, and multiple meeting facilities. It also included a video conference rooms, new kitchen and lunch area, new washrooms, and the renovation of existing washrooms.

The challenge of this project has been to complete the work in an occupied space with particular care during the demolition and asbestos abatement phases.  This project has been performed without interruption to the daily business activities of Munich.
